Vicksburg will have the opportunity to experience a powerful and moving performance as Ballet Magnificat! brings its acclaimed production of The Prodigal’s Journey to the City Auditorium on Feb. 1, at 6:00 p.m.
The Prodigal’s Journey, choreographed by Jiri Sebastian Voborsky, tells the story of a young man who leaves his small-town home in search of freedom. The young man only succeeds in finding sorrow and regret. The story explores the themes of forgiveness, redemption, and the unconditional love of a father, drawing inspiration from the biblical parable of the Prodigal Son. The young man returns home after reaching his lowest point. After returning home, he is welcomed with open arms and forgiven by his father. This forgiveness symbolizes the grace and second chances that lie at the heart of the Christian faith.
