This holiday season, the Salvation Army in Vicksburg is calling on our community to spread hope and joy to local families in need through their annual Angel Tree Campaign. However, time is running out, and they need our help.
The Angel Tree still has about 120 angels waiting to be adopted. Each angel represents a child in need. Adopting one means providing them with the gifts and necessities that can make this holiday season truly magical. The angel Tree is located near Dillard’s in the Vicksburg Mall on Pemberton Square Boulevad.
The Salvation Army must have all adoptions and gifts returned by Saturday, December 14. This deadline allows time for the team to organize and distribute the gifts to the designated recipients:
Distribution times:
- Wednesday, December 18: Port Gibson residents
- Thursday, December 19: Vicksburg Seniors
- Friday, December 20: Vicksburg Children
This campaign isnโt just about presents. Each angel represents a unique story and a unique need. It also grants an opportunity for us to come together as a community to make a real difference.
How You Can Help
Visit the Angel Tree: Stop by the Vicksburg Mall and choose an angel from the tree. Each angel tag provides details about the recipientโs age, gender, and specific needs or wishes.
Shop for Gifts: Fulfill the angelโs requests by purchasing items listed on the tag. These might include toys, clothing, or other essentials.
Return the Gifts: Bring the unwrapped gifts back to the Angel Tree. Make sure to properly label them before the Saturday deadline.
If you canโt adopt an angel but still want to contribute, consider donating to the Salvation Army to support their efforts in brightening the holidays for local families.
Together, we can ensure that no angel is left behind. Letโs rally, Vicksburg, and show the true spirit of the season by adopting these angels and making this holiday unforgettable for those in need.
